XMUM EEE Students Win Silver Medal at IMIC 2021
Innovation Center congratulates EEE students Lee Lou Yee, Pang Chiia, Wang Jifei and Sun Xiaoqing for winning Silver Medal in Science and Technology category (Innovation Project) at International Multidisciplinary Inanovation Competition (IMIC) 2021.Titled “Investigation of Energy Saving Smart Sensor Controller for HVAC System”, the winning project was conducted under the supervision of Ts. Dr. Kang Chia Chao from XMUM School of Electronic and Computer Engineering.

Prof. Wang Xiaomei’s Book on Sociolinguistics Published by the Commercial Press
The Research Management Center congratulates Prof. Wang Xiaomei from XMUM’s Department of Chinese Studies on publishing a book entitled “The Sociolinguistic Studies on Malaysian Chinese Community” (《马来西亚华人社会语言研究》) with the Commercial Press, a leading publisher in China.This is the first book on the sociolinguistic situation of Malaysian Chinese community written in Chinese.

As a part of the Centenary Celebration of Xiamen University (XMU), an advertisement feature highlighting the scientific achievements of XMU was published in the world-renowned scientific journal Nature.Founded in 1921 by Mr. Tan Kah Kee, an overseas Chinese philanthropist, XMU has since developed a culture of innovation and openness. This special feature in Nature showcases XMU’s century-long development, celebrating its key research achievements across various academic fields.
Dr. Ong Wee Jun Named World’s Top 2% Scientists
Associate Professor Dr. Ong Wee Jun from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, Xiamen University Malaysia has entered Stanford University’s list of “World’s Top 2% Scientists 2020” for his outstanding citation impact.According to this list published in October 2020, Dr. Ong is among “2019 Single Year World’s Top 2% Scientists” and “Career-long World’s Top 2% Scientists”.In January 2021, his research achievements was reported by Sin Chew Daily, one of the most widely read newspaper in Malaysia.
