School of TCM Launches the Nanqiang Xinglin Lecture Series
The School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) launched the inaugural Nanqiang Xinglin Lecture Series (南强杏林讲座) on 1 July 2026 at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM).The first lecture, titled “Exploring the Academic Concept of Yang Activation Through Gui Zhi Tang” (从桂枝汤探讨通阳学术思想), was delivered by Prof. Dr Chen Shaodong, Dean of the School of TCM. The lecture aimed to promote the inheritance of TCM classics and strengthen academic exchange among lecturers and students.
CAMS Students Publish in International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates undergraduate alumni Zhang Yunqiu and Chew See Hui, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chew Sook Chin from the China-ASEAN College of Marine Sciences, Dr. Chan Wei Chuen from the School of Foundation Studies, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tan Jian Ping from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering on the publication of their research article in the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, an SCIE Q1 journal with a latest impact factor of 8.7.
XMUM Student Wins Silver Award at 2026 New York Product Design Awards
Liu Mengru, a year 3 Computer Science student at Xiamen University Malaysia, won the Silver Award at the New York Product Design Awards 2026.

XMUM Hosts Intercultural Exchange Programme with Confucian Private Secondary School
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) hosted an intercultural exchange programme titled "Zun-Xia Lingering Rhymes" (尊·厦清韵), welcoming 43 students and three teachers from Confucian Private Secondary School. The programme was organised by the XMUM Tea Club with the aim of promoting cultural heritage appreciation and strengthening engagement between secondary and tertiary education institutions.
XMUM PhD Programme Receives First Full MQA Accreditation
The PhD in New Energy Science and Engineering programme offered by School of Energy and Chemical Engineering has been granted Full Accreditation (FA) by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), making it the first PhD programme at XMUM to receive Full Accreditation.The accreditation was endorsed at the MQA Accreditation Committee Meeting held on 29 April 2026.
