Xiamen University Malaysia Ranked Among World's Top 1% in Six ESI Fields
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) has been ranked among the world's top 1% in six fields, according to the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) rankings released in May 2026.The recognised fields are Clinical Medicine, Neuroscience & Behaviour, Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, and Social Sciences (General). Notably, this marks the first time the University's Materials Science field has entered the ESI global top 1%.
XMUM Researchers Awarded PPRN Grant for Biomass-Based Fruit Preservation Coating

XMUM Collaborates with TNB Research on Carbon Capture Project
The Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Technologies for Agricultural Advancement and a Zero-Waste Economy (STARGAZE) at Xiamen University Malaysia has been appointed by TNB Research as the consultancy team for a Biogenic Carbon Capture and Utilisation (Bio-CCU) project, which officially commenced with a kick-off meeting held on 17 April 2026.
