XMUM and Hirain Technologies Forge Partnership in Electronic Systems

XMUM Student Participate in IEEE Semiconductor Packaging Bootcamp
On 14 May 2026, a group of students from Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), accompanied by Dr. Norhayati binti Mohd Zainee, participated in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Semiconductor Packaging Bootcamp held at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The half-day academic visit was organized in collaboration with the IEEE XMUM Student Branch, IEEE Electronics Packaging Society (EPS), IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CAS), and NXP Semiconductors Malaysia.
XMUM Researchers Explore New Applications for Malaysia’s Durian Industry
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) researchers are conducting ongoing interdisciplinary research on durian to support Malaysia’s durian industry, lications and food innovation.The researches addresses challenges in cultivation, processing and by-product utilisation, exploring how durian fruits, husks and seeds can be developed into new applications in agriculture, materials science, food technology and sustainability.

IEEE XMUM Hosts IBM Z Connection Day
On 15 May 2026, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) XMUM Student Branch successfully organized the IBM Z Career Connection Day. The event brought together students from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Data Science, and Cybersecurity programmes to gain exposure to enterprise computing technologies, IBM Z systems, and career opportunities within the technology industry.
