Wesak Week 7.0 Brings Students Together through Reflection Culture and Connection
From 25 to 27 May 2026, the XMUM Buddhist Society organized Wesak Week 7.0, a three-day campus event featuring a series of cultural, reflective, and wellness-oriented activities. The event aimed to promote compassion, mindfulness, and harmony among students and staff, while encouraging meaningful interpersonal connections within the university community.

The Central Asian Student Community (CASC) at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) successfully organized the Navruz – Central Asian Spring Festival Celebration on 23 April 2026 at the Tan Hua Choon Auditorium.

The “Unity of the Five Elements, Journeying the Medical Path Together” two-day-one-night Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Camp, organized by the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine Student Union (TCMSU), was successfully held from 16 to 17 May 2026.

XMUM Journalism Students Transform Cultural Event into Reporting Practice
On 18 May 2026, 40 Journalism students from 2025/09 intake participated in "China Hunan Film – 2026 Malaysia Screening Week" – a cultural exchange and heritage activity under the guidance of their lecturers. The event, which highlighted traditional culture and community engagement, provided students with an opportunity to experience journalism beyond the classroom.

IEEE XMUM Hosts IBM Z Connection Day
On 15 May 2026, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) XMUM Student Branch successfully organized the IBM Z Career Connection Day. The event brought together students from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Data Science, and Cybersecurity programmes to gain exposure to enterprise computing technologies, IBM Z systems, and career opportunities within the technology industry.
